Safed Musili is an indigenous plant and is used in Ayurvedic and Unani medicine as a “Rasayan” or “adaptogen”.
It is found in tropical wet forests in peninsular India
Safed Musli is cultivated in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan
Roots and leaves are economically important in Safed Musli
Benefits of Safed Musli:
Safed Musli is a herb with sub erect leaves and a tuberous root system
Leaves are long slender growing in rosette, arising from a thick fleshy rhizome
Flowers are white colored, small in size and borne in panicles.
20-25 flowers are borne per flowering stick and these appear profusely in the month of July
Seed are light weight and are very small
Safed Musli is propagated vegetatively
No major challenges have been reported
