Gudmar is commonly known as “Australian Cowplant, Peripioca of the Woods, Sugar Destroyer and Mehashringi
It is found in tropical and sub tropical areas of India, Africa and Australia.
Gudmar is found in dry deciduous forests and grows as a woody climber
The leaves and roots of Gudmar are the economically important parts of the plant
Benefits of Gudmar:
Gudmar is a climber with weak stem covered with small hair
The leaf is 1.0-1.2 inch long, ovate elliptical having small hairs on both surface
Flowers are pale yellowish green
Flowering stars during the months of August through September
Fruits are formed in the month of January to March
Gudmar leaves contain triterpenoid , saponins, flavonols and gumarin
No major challenges have been reported
