Aloe is a succulent evergreen perennial.
It is native to the Arabian Peninsula and grows wild in tropical climates
Aloe is widely cultivated around the world in temperate and tropical regions of Australia, Asia, Southern Spain, South America, Southeastern USA and the Caribbean Islands.
Aloe is widely cultivated in India in almost all states on a commercial scale as well as a household ornamental.
Succulent leaves are the economically important part of Aloe.
Benefits of Aloe Vera:
Aloe vera is found to grow in hot humid and high rainfall conditions.
It is cultivated in all kind of soils but well drained soils with high organic matter are most suitable for Aloe Cultivation
Well drained high land should be selected for its cultivation.
A rainfall ranging from 1000 – 1200 mm is ideal for Aloe cultivation.
The major challenges involve Biotic and Abiotic causes.
